OK, an attempt to explain virus evolution, especially SARS2, and how our present situation influences this process.
TLDR...it's fair to say that current UK scenario is almost certainly an "enabler" for SARS2, and it could encourage the refinement of, or next step from Delta...
My grandparents have COVID. My grandpa is currently hospitalized. My grandma said, “we’ve been so careful. I just don’t understand how this happened after all this time.”
I told her it’s because everyone else has stopped being careful. Whatever happened to caring for our elders?
I'm not a lawyer by any means, but pretty certain that most of the time the suspects aren't allowed to choose what evidence the police use in their investigation...

Right, obviously monkey pox is a concern. Mustn't get out of hand.
Yet, BA4/5 were made VoC's yesterday, each ~5% cases, but data variable.
Back of envelope, prevalence @ 1/50, is that ~70k cases last week each?
Newsworthy?
Can't imagine what's next...🤦♂️

This is just unacceptable...how is anyone clinically vulnerable ever going to feel safe?
That, and are we just accepting long COVID as "living" with it?
I was told a similar story by someone who's daughter works at Macdonalds...not many contacts per shift, indoors, I'm sure 🤦♂️
“Reinfections are rare” 🚩
33.5% of daily infections in Quebec are reinfections. And 40% of those had already had covid between Dec ‘21 and April ‘22.
So we have 4700 to 7700 reinfections a day, of which 1900 to 3000 *a day* already had covid b/w Dec 21 and April 22.
Rare 🚩🙃
If you're an employer, please don't ask your employees to come into work if they have covid.
It's not a good idea and will likely lead to more of your employees being of sick in the long run.
Presenteeism doesn't make sense.
Please, if you possibly can, don't go into work if you've got covid.
Please stay at home until you're no longer infected and don't risk passing it on to colleagues.

Remember when Trump said a good way to deal with the troubling rise in covid cases was to stop measuring it? UK is now at that stage. #ReviveTheDashboard
