Can I just invite you all to think very hard before publicising what individual members of the judiciary may be saying in individual cases? There is a way in which it may be entirely counter productive.

To Conservative MPs and supporters I say the following: the repeal of the Human Rights Act is illiberal (old usage - think JS Mill). The HRA allows individuals to challenge the State abusing its power & interfering in citizens’ lives. That’s a fundamentally Conservative principle

I myself have wondered why refugees didn't stay in European countries and have travelled on. So I asked them.

Thank you to @SexMattersOrg, @HJoyceGender @FondOfBeetles and @Scienceofsport for this evening's fascinating and illuminating event on science, women's sport and how fairness is an inevitable casualty of current trans-inclusion policies.

I get that the nature of Twitter means that bald assertions are often made at the expense of accuracy, but it is always beneficial to bring @AudreySuffolk's expertise to bear on this subject.

I am always depressed when women lack empathy enough to understand that, even if they dont need a single sex space or service, that other women might do. Not needing that doesn't make them more virtuous, it means their needs are just different. Equality law allows for both

Wherein I am given the opportunity to analyse the success of the s.28 roll-out, and do so with the same emollient charm and readiness to congratulate the judiciary* for which I am so well-known. *this is sarcasm

Lost my wedding ring (silver) in Liverpool centre on Friday. Likely around Seel St/Bold St area. Obvious sentimental value. Slim chance I know, but if you live in Liverpool, or know people who do, please like or retweet in the hope of finding it. Substantial reward offered.

Met Police issued a Covid fine to a sobbing 18yo woman from Lewisham. She appealed, saying she was trapped in a situation & complying with Covid rules would've meant walking 13 miles home alone at night. Police ignored her appeal, prosecuted anyway, and then misled the court.

If anyone is thinking of bragging about doing something *really special* for the Bank Holiday weekend, stand down, because you will not provoke more envy in me than @debaleena_d has just done.
Opened fridge to make salad. Found leftover Chinese takeaway I’d forgotten about. This might be the happiest I’ve ever felt - and I include my wedding day and the birth of my child in that assessment.
