Native language and culture is a superpower. I'm still in awe of what I saw at Riverside Indian School in Oklahoma, a place where Native languages are revitalized, and Native traditions celebrated. Everywhere I went, I saw the joy and pride of students in their identities!

As much as it’s about recovery, it’s also about setting higher standards for success. We must pursue good pedagogy in a well-rounded education that includes financial literacy, instills a passion for reading, embraces the arts & recognizes an early start makes a big difference.

When we talk about leveling up education in this country – there is room for both an analog approach & for more inventive and tech-heavy programs. The important thing is to provide every opportunity available for students to succeed. edweek.org/technology/ed-dep…

Pay attention. African American history is US history—the good and the bad.
Remember when we were told they weren't opposing the teaching of Black history, just "CRT"? And how many dismissed those of us who said these laws were anti-history laws, and anti-Black? Perhaps one day folks will listen to those who know. thedailybeast.com/desantis-b…

Deputy Secretary Marten & I agree; unless we build buy-in from educators on the ground, our work won’t be successful. That’s why she was at @mpsaz today to speak with educators about a nationwide effort to ensure schools have the resources they need to put students first.
