Menopause is a workplace issue. @belfastcc progressing a policy for all staff following my motion and should be in place shortly. All organisations need to have plans, training and adjustments in place.
Menopause: Every woman goes through it. That’s a biological fact. It’s not a gender or equality issue just a “natural” process. Therefore work places must consider incorporating it into their personnel /building plan. Have the conversation. Speak up. #move 🌈🏃‍♀️🚶‍♀️🛼 #Menopause

The Larder in East Belfast are trying something really important - shifting from a food bank model to a more sustainable, dignified and ethical approach. Can't wait to hear more.
#FoodBanks aren't the solution and #AusterityRetail falls short; further segregating shoppers according to economic standing. So we're trying something different and we're in equal parts excited and nervous! - you can watch the full video here: vimeo.com/710271413

I unexpectedly had to collect Addie tonight, so Committee at home via zoom. Sadly from June hybrid won't be available, so for anyone juggling family life, illness or even Covid the only option is apologies. We should be doing more, not less, to remove barriers to public life.

A real life impact of having no functioning government. No argument makes this acceptable.

Incredibly upsetting to see @ElmgrovePS new building being vandalised. I spoke to @PSNIBelfastE already this week about ASB in this area and will be following up. Local children suffering due to the mindless actions of a few. Anyone with information please contact the police.

The Assembly can take action. For one party to prevent it from doing so, is shameful beyond belief. Nothing is more important than this.
This week we seen someone quietly turn down chilled food items. When we enquired as to why, with embarrassment & tears they explained they couldn’t afford cost of electric to keep their fridge running. In this case, we were able to help, but this is the state of things out there.

Just for clarity the NI Assembly has no role in the negotiations regarding the NI Protocol, it is a negotiation between the UK Govt and the EU. So why are the DUP boycotting?

Every day I talk to people who can’t afford to heat their homes, who are worried about feeding their families, who can’t get a hospital appointment. This is simply a total dereliction of duty to those people.
BREAKING: Sir Jeffrey Donaldson says his party won't nominate an Assembly speaker today as newly elected MLAs gather at Stormont. He tells the Newsletter that the Irish Sea border must go. The DUP's move means the Assembly now won't be able to function.
