Hmmmm why do I talk to so many of my patients in heterosexual partnerships about decreased libido?
Replying to @JennMJacksonPhD
39% of straight women compared to 95% of straight men orgasm during sex. That's a 52% gap. psychologytoday.com/us/blog/…

Amen. This stinks.
Can we talk about the mental load of doing your “personal risk assessment” for those of us still covid cautious? Having to plan for and ruminate over every social encounter. I’m tired.

Sounds like a relatively easy, low cost intervention with multiple benefits. #prunesforall #menopause #BreakingNews
My partners make fun of me for eating 6 prunes per day, but this is at least the third positive prune RCT: Prunes preserve hip bone mineral density in a 12-month randomized controlled trial in postmenopausal women: the Prune Study academic.oup.com/ajcn/advanc… #Menopause

Kinda stunned how many in #PublicHealth are saying, "I don't agree with a pro-vax pro-mask pro-treatment doctor on the details of COVID mitigation in 2022 so I will not attend a conference at which she's speaking." Wow! Sad to see public discourse so degraded, in academia

In the Netherlands, 21% of ALL trips by non-western women are cycled. 16% by people with disabilities. 27% by seniors (65+). 55% by teenagers. Undeniable proof that when cities build dense, high-quality infrastructure networks, everyone will use them; not just the fit and brave.

With less than one month before student loan payments are set to restart, the Biden administration has yet to release their plan to provide relief to millions of Americans. The time to cancel student debt is NOW.

Wise words 💗 Sometimes it's ok to have an 'off' day. As humans, it's completely normal to have good and bad days, especially if we are feeling tired, emotional or stressed. #MenoHealth #inspirationalquote #strongwomen #lifequotes #menopause #menopausesupport

Saturday morning surgical tip: Loading the needle at 45° angle, reduces wrist strain and allows more needle angles compared to simply loading it at a 90° angle 🔪💥👇👁! #SoMe4Surgery @pferrada1 @drdevirgilio @SWexner @juliomayol @rbarbosa91 @Cirbosque @futuroscirascol

This two-way protected bike lane took only 53 minutes to build. This was in front of an elementary school and park. Children have the right to travel safely. Shoutout to @BikeEastBay!

This. ENDO PATIENTS DESERVE BETTER. See an endometrioma? How about don’t order a cancer test bc endo is not cancer. See a complex cyst? How about getting a good quality scan instead of ordering a non-specific cancer test?
Seeing too many women with endometriosis & adenomyosis (with or without diagnosis) being pushed down suspected cancer pathway due to UK’s fixation on using CA125 blood test. Causes unnecessary anxiety and clogs the target pathways. Need better scans and more thoughtful pathways

Incredibly grateful to the amazing and hardworking people of this organization for rallying every day to do good for our patients.
As #NHCW2022 comes to an end, we want to shine a light on our Sea Mar staff. Thank you for all the work you do every day to provide much-needed services for the members of our communities across Washington state. #HealthCenterStaffAppreciationDay

The Inflation Reduction Act is the most ambitious legislation ever to help the U.S reduce carbon emissions. It’s a critical step forward, but we all have a lot of work to do to support frontline communities and solve the climate crisis. Onward.

My sentiments exactly.
the difference between the way we protect ourselves to see a covid + patient in the hospital vs the way everyone walks around assuming no one near them has covid is mind-boggling

Yep. Same. Safety first. Planning is critical. Knowing alternative ways to do things in a pinch also vital. If you aren’t double checking yourself or being a little paranoid, you’re likely overconfident and messing things up. Practice humbly. Always ask for help when in doubt.
I feel this in my bones as a new attending. I repeat “what is the safest thing” over and over to myself. Then I do that. I practice the case in my head night before. I pull extra instruments just in case. Give the preventative meds. Ask dumb questions. Ask for help.
