Brutally honest.
Comparable, not equivalent. Bush didn't regard Iraq as non-nation that rightly belonged to US, or tacitly licence troops' rape & theft. & target regimes in Kyiv & Baghdad extremely different. But invasion brutally negligent, justifications poor and policy of torture a disgrace.

Keep it going!
Now it’s official: Estonian Government moved fast and decided today to approve requests by Sweden and Finland to join @NATO. Important formal step to open up the doors of NATO by our side. Welcome, dear neighbours @marinsanna and @SwedishPM #WeAreNATO

Keep a bottle of Advil nearby when explaining why Ann Coulter still has 2M Twitter followers.
No matter which historical figure you study, tolerance of free speech was fine as long as you did not cross a red line (i.e., sedition, mocking the king or queen, challenging a preferred religion), and this includes Enlightenment thinkers.
Ben Shapiro is unwell.
Like National Review, Ben Shapiro goes anti-anti-terrorist. Rather than criticize (even mildly) rhetoric close to a terrorists' manifesto, claim they're the real victims, and tell regular Republicans that denouncing the terrorist's ideas is an attack on them. Dangerous trajectory

If you listen carefully, that's Tony Blair laughing in the background.
OMG…he actually said it! He actually told the truth … for once in his miserable life!

It's hard to believe that George W. Bush can, with a straight face or otherwise, give moral lessons about illegal invasions.
If he slipped up because he’s so used to giving speeches about Iraq and he’s getting old, that’d be one thing. But the “Iraq too” aside… Just an awkward attempt at a save? Or does Bush regret the Iraq War? AFAIK, he’s never said that starting it was wrong or that it went poorly.
Freudian slip.
George W. Bush: "The decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq — I mean of Ukraine."

Mine went lower when Trump received over 70 million votes after acting like a petulant child for a term.
Never is my faith in humanity lower than when I see how many people have come to believe that the inflation which is present everywhere in the world is somehow the fault of their own country’s current government’s policies

Diversity, equity, and inclusion bureaucrats think they invented a new trend, but profs have been diversifying their syllabi for decades. It’s part of the job to read widely and adjust one’s required readings. And we never needed DEI specialists to hold our hands in the process.

“Diversity-contribution statements” are basically make-work projects that university bureaucrats create to show the public that they are hip to the latest trends in political correctness. insidehighered.com/news/2022…
