More fun: Windows sometimes stores numbers in the registry as a string datatype. If you set it to a DWORD, it won't understand the setting. For example, "HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\FontSmoothing" is either 0 or 2, and it must be a string. Computers are SUPER pedantic assholes.

Also, it's important to know that ping and nslookup use different lookup mechanisms. They give different answers. Why? Because one of them opens a rift in space-time and queries an adjacent universe where purple isn't a color and computers have feelings.
