Cartoon capitalism: A fat man, smoking a cigar, hoarding wealth while workers sweat.
Real world capitalism: An entrepreneur, working crazy hours, risking her own money, to provide goods or services others want, while investing profits back into her business.
Some people suffer from such enormous hubris that they not only take the great accomplishment of free association, decentralized production, and entrepreneurship for granted, they belittle it and think they have 'quick fixes' to all issues that have not yet been perfectly solved.
The heavy burdens they impose - lockdowns, licenses, regulations, restrictions - are all for us, not them.
“They bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves won’t move them with one of their fingers.”
