Writing Myth #1 - People can't possibly enjoy your work unless they "see themselves represented in it". Imagination, empathy and creativity has allowed us to enjoy an infinitely vast range of stories for thousands of years. You really think we only got it right since 2015?

I hate this modern mentality that tries to strip away every ounce of imagination and respect from the audience, reducing them to the status of fragile simple-minded children who have to be carefully protected, flattered and pandered to.

It is controversial these days, but I never understood the “I want my heroes to be like me” thing I suck and I’m lame, why would I want that, give me something to look up to and aspire for instead
