This week, the US surpassed 1 million deaths from #COVID19, and the EU surpassed 2 million. These grim milestones are a reminder that we must recognise our growing interdependence and create a global health ecosystem that serves everyone.
I note today’s statement that tragically, #COVID19 has now claimed more than 1 million lives in the United States. I offer my deep condolences to all Americans, especially those who have lost someone they love.
In our 2021 annual report, the GPMB called for more equitable, sustainable, predictable, flexible, and scalable financing for health emergency preparedness. Leaders must not allow the current momentum for change to go to waste. Read more here: bit.ly/39eADrI
