As @TheGPMB has said, to be effective, reform must be inclusive, coherent, and ambitious. Leaders must recommit to reforming the #globalhealth system based on the principles of equity, solidarity, inclusivity, accountability, and sustainability to prevent the next pandemic.

This week, the US surpassed 1 million deaths from #COVID19, and the EU surpassed 2 million. These grim milestones are a reminder that we must recognise our growing interdependence and create a global health ecosystem that serves everyone.
I note today’s statement that tragically, #COVID19 has now claimed more than 1 million lives in the United States. I offer my deep condolences to all Americans, especially those who have lost someone they love.
