Leading Zimbabwean political scientist @ProfJNMoyo said that ZANUPF doesn’t have structures, and that it doesn’t exist outside the army.
He said most decisions come from the military not ZANUPF.
The Prof said the 1st coup was in 2008 and the army stopped short of announcing it.

In 1980 the colonial dictator Ian Smith lost the election to the black majority. He never resorted to more violence he simply gave up power. In 2008 to be specific, Zanu-PF lost power to a fellow black party MDC, they resorted to torture and killings. Smith was better.
