Rudy Giuliani was an early advocate of “threatening” lawmakers into overturning the election results. He was a hired thug.
Replying to @UrbanAchievr
Yes, the president is personally responsible. Just yesterday, his lawyer Rudy Giuliani endorsed threats against state lawmakers. "Sometimes it even requires being threatened." kagstv.com/article/news/nati…

Lots of pernicious political ideas in circulation right now; the worst ones seem to have clear analogs on both ends of the political spectrum. Dignity and free expression for the individual. Pluralism and toleration to navigate our many differences. That’s the right recipe.

ridiculous exchange at both ends no one's a political prisoner no one's being denied due process they're charged with crimes and awaiting trial
Dan Crenshaw agrees with townhall questioner that charged 1/6 defendants are "political prisoners" who are being denied "any due process." Crenshaw says he wishes he had the votes to pass a bill: "I wish I had the authority to help."

If I owned a sports team, we'd start every game with the national anthem (participation optional for players + fans of course). If I owned a sports team in a state that compelled the playing of the national anthem, I wouldn't play it, because forced patriotism is meaningless.
TODAY: Florida Senate committee will hear a bill from Fla. Sen. @JoeGruters (R-Sarasota) that would force professional sports teams in Florida to play the national anthem before games If they fail to do so, they could face financial penalties or be cut out of future business

Somebody ask @LindseyGrahamSC if he still believes we should "think about" designating the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers as domestic terror groups.
Replying to @politico
Under questioning from Sen. Lindsey Graham, Wray said the Proud Boys, a Trump-supporting extremist paramilitary group, have not been legally designated as a domestic terror group. politi.co/3e24BiT

I'm not sure we'd be well-served by a formal domestic terror list. The politicization of such lists might be counterproductive and effectively trivialize actual threats. But it's worth revisiting in light of Saturday's Trump rally, which featured remarks by two Oath Keepers.

Then came this weekend at the Houston Marathon... The 37-year-old D'Amato became the fastest American woman EVER in the marathon, breaking a record that had stood for over 15 years. Her 2:19:12 time smashed Deena Kastor's 2006 mark by 24 seconds. She won the race by 10 minutes.

Hawley says the resolution shouldn't have used the word "insurrectionists" to describe the Capitol invaders, since no one from Jan. 6 has been officially charged with insurrection. So I assume he'd be fine with calling them "violent seditionists."
Replying to @jamiedupree
Sen. Josh Hawley R-MO criticized a Senate resolution passed last week which honored the US Capitol custodial staff for cleaning up after the January 6 attack. Hawley said it was wrong to say the attack was "perpetuated by 'violent insurrectionists.'" bit.ly/3nABOWN
