jumped all the way from my pixel 3 all the way to a 6 and MAN was this the move. fantastic all around package for ~600$ (minus the fingerprint scanner). #teampixel

There's no fingerprint scanner? So is the screen "always on"? Is it squeeze the sides to turn on? Double tap?

there is! there isn't one on the back, it's under the screen now. it's not an ultrasonic, just a camera, so when you put ur thumb over the screen lights up under ur thumb only to check the picture. this type can have glass put over, unlike samsung. 1/2

it's not nearly as accurate as my 3, it misses every once in awhile and its definitely slower, but it WORKS so meh. there's no squeeze ): but holding down the power button accomplishes effectively the same function now. power menu is now on dropdown menu. double tap to wake works

Yeah the fingerprint scanner is definitely the biggest weakness on the phone. I also went from the 3 to the 6. Loving pretty much everything else about the upgrade. Unfortunately for me Assistant thinks every noise it hears is me saying Hey Google, so had to turn it off :(

Have you tried registering your finger print twice?

yup! i always do just in case. I think the reader is just a bit lower quality than other phones with it. it also doesn't help that im not used to where to put my thumb yet, even with the icon on the display I assume I'm always a bit off cause there's no physical circle anymore
