The town I live in goes to bed at 9pm. I go out and sit on my front porch at night with a glass of wine and listen to the quiet. I have an owl living in one of my trees who hoots at me at night. Last night I caught a glimpse of him/her. He's a big one.

Reading Colin Woodard book: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Culture of North America. I read a similar book years ago, but I think it was 13 Nations. Woodard’s book is worth a read, if you want to read how we got where we are today.
