Like, something about the Philly mayor's race, or Kevin McCarthy's obstruction of justice. or some angle about the Trump probes that no one else is talking about? Just a few suggestions

I have read many versions of it and this passage makes me ill. There was no precedent in the media age for the scale of the public lying and authoritarianism under Trump. That — not some shift to partisan punditry — was responsible for the confrontations. nytimes.com/2023/03/17/busin…

I can’t believe I’m saying this: I agree with him
I spent over a year in the 2000s writing about the massive corruption in John Street’s administration. It’s embarrassing you don’t care about any of that

There is absolutely no way Macron is gonna be able to stop these demos, or survive politically. There are, like, cute French influencer girls in trench coats just chilling in the streets as the cops approach with flash bangs and tactical gear on. These people are not afraid.

My dad's boss used to do political commentary on one of the local news shows in our town and he devoted a segment in March 2003 to telling me and other high school students who had protested the Iraq War to "drop out of Elmira Free Academy and enroll in Osama Bin Laden Academy"
Not that anyone asked but Fall 2001-Spring 2003 was the worst climate for free speech in America in my lifetime and nothing since really comes close.

Right on. Why isn't the corporate media including MSNBC giving more in depth attention to these takeovers of schools and governments and targeting of public prosecutors and spending almost all of their time on Trump and his MAGA friends in government? @maddow
What do the Houston school board, Jackson MS City Hall, and DAs in PHL, STL, Tampa. etc. have in common? All are elected Democrats seeing their power outrageously stripped in GOP power plays The threat to democracy we're not talking about. My new column inquirer.com/opinion/houston…

Important to note that right-wing, anti-democratic, authoritarians take power in two ways: violent overthrow (coups & War—see fascist Italy & Spanish Civil War) or by nominally legal but anti-democratic seizure of mechanisms and dismantling of opposition (see Nazis).

A quick update: Pro-Trump influencers are trying to organize anti-indictment rallies tonight, one in NYC and one at Mar-a-Lago, mostly on Telegram. Trump fans are mostly telling each other not to go, saying it's a fed trap. This mirrors most pro-Trump protest failures since 1/6.

We’re releasing our first TV ads today 🔥 I am honored to have the support of two great mayors who know how to make city government work. And that's exactly what I’ll do as mayor. Let’s move Philadelphia forward — together. rebeccarhynhart.link/donate
