A voice like mine has never been a Cabinet secretary or at the head of the Department of Interior.
Growing up in my mother’s Pueblo household made me fierce. I’ll be fierce for all of us, our planet, and all of our protected land.
I am honored and ready to serve.
By the end of the year (🤞), the only statue that will remain on Monument Avenue in #RVA is one of Arthur Ashe. Letting that sink in for a moment. This goes to all the community organizers and activists - young and old. #BlackLivesMatter
.@JoeBiden says Trump "brandished" a Bible, and said he "wish he would open it once in a while." Says no president will be allowed to silence the American people or take away our cherished right to assemble, and to speak.

This is not abstract: a black reporter was arrested while doing his job this morning, while the white police officer who killed George Floyd remains free. I am glad swift action was taken, but this, to me, says everything.
George Floyd. Ahmaud Arbery. Christian Cooper. These injustices aren’t just about bad actors—they’re about the systems that permit, protect, and even promote the brutalization of African Americans. It's on all of us to speak up about and actively fight to change those systems.
Can’t believe this has to be said but you don’t have the right to interrogate and demand the papers of random people simply because they are black, and you shouldn’t use 911 to enforce an authority you don’t have. This is not South Africa under apartheid or 1950s Alabama. Cheers.
