If you’re gonna talk about how divided we are as a nation, you’ll want to mention SCOTUS decisions like this one, handing power to state reps in crazy-ass gerrymandered districts and completely ignoring the will of the majority of US citizens. This is not what the people want.

If there’s one thing Covid taught us is for this Supreme Court, “people will die because of this decision” isn’t remotely a deal breaker.

I don’t want to harsh anyone’s mellow but next up on the chopping block is the ability of the executive departments to regulate, well, anything, and that’s the one the Court’s owners really want.

The post-Roe world will be a world of chaos and terror, coercion and ruined lives, and escalating legal and political hardball. The idea that Roe is the *reason* abortion is a source of political conflict is howlingly false, and this is evident before Hobbs is a day old

Even if this were only about abortion it would be enough upsetting. But it’s not. It’s about so much more. And we’ve been trying to say this for a long time
The Supreme Court ruling today could lead to an increase in criminal charges filed for all sorts of pregnancy outcomes, including stillbirths, miscarriages, and treatment for dangerous or unviable pregnancies. Two recent California prosecutions show how: boltsmag.org/california-preg…

Five dollars says white women will still vote for the GOP in the midterms. It’s not that they don’t care… They just don’t care ENOUGH. $10 says the replies have 30 variations of “not all white women” They care about that.

Thomas and Alito especially are clearly people who have nursed massive resentments most of their lives, and now have a chance to let it all out. The shoddiness of their work is itself an expression of their power

just gleefully incoherent. “the 2nd amendment applies to guns that did not exist when it was written but gun regulations must have a historical basis”
Replying to @mjs_DC
Thomas' opinion for the court suggests that judges may NOT consider empirical evidence about the dangers posed by firearms when evaluating gun control laws. They may only ask whether a modern regulation has some analogue that is rooted in American history. supremecourt.gov/opinions/21…

SCOTUS just gutted Miranda rights & expanded gun rights while requiring tax dollars to go to religious schools & giving border agents the right to fuck w/you w/out consequence, & are about to overturn Roe v. Wade. But Hillary cackled when she laughed, so I guess it equals out.

Oh wow he really was a spy.
Earlier today, the Yankees traded RHP David McKay to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations. Additionally, the Yankees added RHP Albert Abreu to the active roster.

Liberals really try to be too perfect sometimes. You can’t criticize Lauren Boebert without first affirming that it is ok and actually great to be a sex workers? Come on.
