Maybe the reason we have carnage on a daily basis in this country is because people who'd sacrifice their own grandkids for their guns are in power.
Holy crap. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) said she would shoot her own grandchildren to oppose a gun safety reform bill that would keep guns out of the hands of those who should not have them. (h/t @RyanShead)

Tucker Carlson just blamed the 4th of July mass shooting on “mostly women” who “never stop lecturing [men] about their so-called male privilege.” He also blamed “social media, porn, video games,” and “government-endorsed weed.” (h/t @acyn)

Ladder-climbing politicians are NOT the solution to our problems, Pennsylvania. To them, it’s about power and control. To me, it’s about finding solutions and putting PA first.

Is your “fReEdOm” to have high capacity magazines really worth these daily rampages?

When Uvalde happened, Republicans said the problem was the doors, not the guns. What’s the door-based policy response to a mass shooting at an open air street parade?

Morning #TeamJustice. I joined my friend @briantylercohen for a deep dive discussion on what the data points tells us on the pardon front, possible Trump charges, the state of the DOJ & more. Is accountability for Trump and his co-conspirators on the horizon? #JusticeMatters
NEW: @glennkirschner2 joins to discuss who Trump likely pardoned, whether there’s any reason the DOJ would NOT indict Trump, and what Trump’s legal recourse would be if he’s actually charged. WATCH: invidious.fdn.fr/Z9u43-TU-to LISTEN: apple.co/3yjKVPY

The people who run the Democratic party all achieved success within the political system 40, 50, 60 years ago. That system is crumbling and their instinct is to pretend it is still functioning rather than think about what new needs to be done to meet the moment.

It’s like if a Facebook comments section was sentient.
This wasn't SNL on a Thursday night. This was Wyoming's Republican primary debate.

There is an assault on democracy in this country, but it is by the Left not the Right. It took us 50 years to overturn Roe vs Wade. We worked hard, won elections, and put conservatives on the court. 5 days after losing at Supreme Court, Democrats want to blow up the Senate!

At what point can journalists start saying “these things are a threat to our democracy and our health” without the risk of an e-mail from their management saying they’re being perceived as biased?

Expanding the Court is the commonsense solution.
Expanding the Court is not extreme. What's extreme is 6 political operatives gutting the government's ability to combat climate change, stripping people of bodily autonomy, blocking states from preventing gun violence and blurring the separation of church and state. For starters.

Well thank God Sinema and Manchin didn't eliminate the filibuster. Just imagine how doing that would've undermined democracy and led to volatile power grabs and a wholesale constitutional crisis. Disaster averted!

Since the 1970s, the Clean Air Act has been responsible for a 73% improvement in air quality. Pollution-related deaths have fallen from over 100k in 1990 down to 60k by 2019. The drop in pollution has led to a 6-month increase in life expectancy. But sure, "pro-life." Got it.
