I understand the Select Committee is still seeking testimony from @Jim_Jordan if the Ranking Member cares to contradict any of the testimony he heard today.
The Great Wall of China.
The Western Wall of Jerusalem.
Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
Hadrian’s Wall.
The Berlin Wall.
The Walls of Babylon.
The Wall of Jericho.
The Walls of Constantinople
Donald Trump’s Wall of Ketchup.
This is the most astonishing testimony I have ever seen or heard or read.
You could litigate or investigate for a thousand years and never see anything as mind-blowing as this.
The most damning part isn’t that Trump attacked his Secret Service agent.
It’s that he attacked him for not letting the President lead an armed mob into the Capitol Building to obstruct the electoral process.
“Do you believe in the peaceful transfer of power” should be one of the easiest questions you could ask a retired, American three-star general.
Unless, of course, the answer is “no.”
Dear people citing The Bible:
It’s a cool book with some wonderful passages but it also has ghost sex & giants & super babies & demons. It’s why we don’t make laws based on Game of Thrones, My Little Pony or Legend of Zelda.
If the Supreme Court is going to allow prayer in the middle of a high school football field, they should allow high school football games in the middle of a church.
Cassidy Hutchinson just displayed stunning courage and character testifying before the @January6thCmte today. She demolished any pretense that the savage mob violence caught President Trump and his lieutenants by surprise on January 6.
They knew as early as *10 am* that guns, knives, spears, etc. were present in the January 6 crowd.
They still refused to deploy the Guard.
This was the plan.
How did Trump know that people weren’t there to hurt him? What president at anytime in history would or could possibly know that? At any function. He had/has big haters. It’s the whole purpose of the secret service. Inside job.
Still blown away that when Mike Flynn, a retired General, was asked if he believed in the peaceful transition of power, instead of saying yes, he asserted his 5th amendment right to avoid giving an answer that would incriminate him.
He knew the mob had weapons.
He knew they weren’t there to hurt him.
He knew they would march to the Capitol to confront Pence.
He knew that’s why they brought their weapons.
Nothing that happened was an accident or events getting out of control.
I’ve lived during ten different decades in America. The economy comes and goes, is up, is down.
But our fundamental freedoms? When those slip, it leads to very dark places. To Jim Crow. To internment.
Vote to protect your freedoms. Or they will be taken from you.
