On this week’s episode of the podcast, I chatted with Sam Negus about why we both call ourselves “immigrants” instead of “expatriates,” if it’s possible for an Englishman to become Spanish, and why a song from An American Tail sums up the American Dream. nationalreview.com/corner/th…

McConnell spent a small country’s GDP on “America First” races. The only one he didn’t was Blake Masters. The amount of money Oz, Walker, etc. got from the SLP was mind-blowing.
Replying to @RBPundit
No we had Mitch McConnell removing money from american 1st races. Races he claimed were unwinnable but even without the Egop support almost claimed the victory.

“Limited scientific evidence of physical advantage.” Nobody actually believes this. Some people pretend to. Others knowingly lie about it. But nobody actually believes it.
The international governing body for track and field will ban trans women athletes from elite women's competitions, citing a priority for fairness over inclusion despite limited scientific evidence of physical advantage. n.pr/3TLgCvR

Steinbach is a blocker, a tackler, a guard—a hired arbiter of taste working to stamp out any dissent from the fringe ideology she represents. Her repetitive “is the juice worth the squeeze?” question is one of the most illiberal I’ve ever heard. nationalreview.com/corner/ti…

Progressives consider Trump to be a menace whose mendacity must not be amplified *right* up until he says something dishonest that they happen to like politically—at which they point they all blast his nonsense around the Internet as if it were the word of Moses.
It's poorly written and has Trump's usual weird capitalization issues, but it is also a pretty compelling argument against a DeSantis presidential bid

The idiots are all out. FL is not the least affordable state, FL is consistently rated in the Top 5 of NAEP test scores for children, FL’s crime rate has fallen in excess of the nation, and shockingly the third biggest state had the third most Covid deaths. Trump is the left.
This is the message many have failed to deliver, but Trump uniquely can. Florida is now the least affordable state in the country, education ranks poorly, there's an insurance crisis, guns are on the rise, and DeSantis' unsteady COVID strategy led to significant loss of life.

watching Never Trump turn into Never DeSantis is hilarious/predictable but also for the first time they're just believing Trump claims with no need to fact check 🤣

The problem with the claim "wokeness is just natural social progression" is that ~everyone IN society hates it- it's hugely activist driven. Latest data: 87% of Natives + Hispanics, 82% of Asians, 79% of whites, and 75% of Blacks oppose "PC culture." #so_theres_that
I think that maybe 70 percent of what Republicans deride as "wokeness" is really just that women, people of color, and LGBTQ people now have enough political and economic power that they can insist that people in their workplaces behave politely towards them.

You cant cancel a debt. You can only move the payment to others who didnt engage in the contract. Essentially, youre asking for bankruptcy without the consequences.
Canceling student debt is the right thing to do—and it’s broadly popular:

Trump's signature issues for 2024 so far are overturning the 2020 election and fighting numerous legal investigations. The Trump Show sucked up the oxygen for policy movement when he was president. Any signs that Trump has learned how to govern since then?

Incredibly dishonest framing.
I just vetoed my first bill. This bill would risk your retirement savings by making it illegal to consider risk factors MAGA House Republicans don't like. Your plan manager should be able to protect your hard-earned savings — whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene likes it or not.

Biden said it’s “pretty straightforward” how he cut the deficit in 2021 and 2022: he put a 15% minimum tax on corporations. In reality, the tax wasn’t even in effect until 2023. Fact check on the president’s most clearly false deficit boast: cnn.com/2023/03/16/politics/…
