I did not say having a will would completely avoid lawyer fees, but it certainly helps. That's why I said "even better, a trust."
If you’re gonna get on here and attempt to educate at least educate yourself first. Having a will does not cut out lawyer fees. A trust is the only way to avoid it.

Yes it does! It means that the defendant has expressed his/hers wishes clearly and that money in Probate won’t be waisted on arguing things out.

I won't spoil the rest of the movie for those who wish to see it, but it was surreal watching it knowing that all of these women were putting their safety and freedom at risk for something that in 2021 (when I saw it) was completely common and legal. Now here we are in 2022.
