This thing seems to be getting a few shares today. (Thank you!❤️) I wrote it because it’s true. Privacy is essential for creativity, connection, dignity, consent, and so much more. It's essential for human flourishing. And it's normal. #zcash #privacyisnormal

In the legacy system transactions are visible to the authorities (banks, govt) but not to your average person. In crypto they’re either visible to everyone or no one. The Man, predictably … isn’t going to want to tolerate privacy from their (legal) inquiries … sooo …

But we absolutely need and deserve privacy from prying random eyes … and democracies at least have the power to limit what the govt has the power to get as well … if we exercise it
Well said unfortunately it’s not going to happen. Let’s just look at where the world is going and where it leads. Complete control. Whether by design or accident everything is converging to this. Cash is privacy, and it won’t exist for long, in fact it’ll be illegal.

In the US, we have had a similar battle with encryption over the years and managed some long and hard fought victories. The ending is not foretold, especially when we have these new tools coming online.
