People are continuing to come forward for their vaccinations - nearly half a million yesterday alone. Only 10% of over 12s have had no vaccination - and that number is continuing to decline. 7.6% have one dose, 23.4% have two doses, 59% have three doses.

However the Government really shouldn鈥檛 be bragging about hitting targets - they should be doing much better advertising and persuasion about the need to get vaccinated - and answering questions people raise in a serious way.

But we know that, even with vaccinations, omicron is super contagious. Why aren't you agitating for FFP2s in lessons, for monitored air filtration, for isolation of household & classroom contacts, for boosters for all staff?!

First dose of 12-15 year olds in my area of Wiltshire actually only 57.2% on 26Dec.... obviously could have increased since then...

The current vaccines are not a solution for Omicron - see below FFP2 masks & ventilation would be much more effective in reducing infections for this & future variants until better vaccines are available

Overall, our findings confirm that the rapid spread of Omicron can primarily be ascribed to the immune evasiveness rather than an inherent increase in the basic transmissibility. 2/N

I still think it is ridiculous that it is 12+ and not Y7. Surely would have made sense to vaccinate all the secondary age children.

Zero under 12s, even vulnerable ones.

Vaccination is a choice for children and parents. As teachers this week we have no choice but to attend as no consideration has been made to the new working environment where at least 1 in 30 has omicron In unventilated classrooms and possibly without masks.

What about the children under 12鈥..no vaccines for them yet, but expected to squash 30+ in a small classroom with little or no ventilation. Expect FFP2 masks at least.
