This heartfelt message has been sent to me privately. Nadhim Zahawi really needs to understand these emotions amongst school staff - teachers and support staff, class teachers and school leaders - and he needs to act. #SaveEducation

They do understand. It鈥檚 intentional. Weaken public services to the point of collapse to make the case for private involvement.

Well, you could have an influence here Kevin. But emails and polls are not enough I'm afraid.

Have you seen how hes trying to stop senior school wearing masks if their regional rates are high. As year 11 parent I want schools kept open and not to have an outbreak at exam times. Keeping masks helps Please challenge this . independent.co.uk/news/educa鈥

I know taking action is your last resort but how bad does it have to get before you actually do something? What extremely bad thing are you waiting for? What鈥檚 the point of you if you don鈥檛 act? Teachers should be out on strike. Tweets of exasperation don鈥檛 cut it.

This. Schools are unsafe workplaces and put children and extended family members at risk. If that's not enough, nothing ever will be.

Another tweet about your concern. Shame @neu and other unions don鈥檛 have enough concern to take action and protect their members. Tweets and letters are just meaningless platitudes when staff and kids are put in unsafe conditions.

If you suffer from #LongCovid, today's @IndependentSage session is an absolute watch.
Another great @IndependentSage session on Long Covid which affects 1.3 million people (including 117,000 children) in the UK -powerful and moving. If you want one argument for the utter folly of lifting all Covid restrictions right now and letting infection rip, this is it.

This is awful. There are so many patients with prolonged symptoms who need investigation, care and support. We don't know yet what the mass infection event which is Omicron will add to the already huge numbers. Now is the time to invest in research & treatment, not close clinics.
