Politicians claim ventilation and filtration improvements are expensive, but what are the costs of doing nothing?
"All 3 scenarios resulted in net cost-savings and infections averted. For the base-case scenario, improving ventilation to 12 ACH was associated with 54 aerosol infections averted in 1 year, with an estimated cost savings of $152K and 1.35 QALYs gained."

This is so common place now that for hospital workers neither the horrendous treatment of staff nor the casual incompetence of management will raise an eyebrow.
True story - a major Melbourne hospital had a staff member resign b/c the hospital denied her leave for her “wedding day”’ Following her resignation, they asked what they could do to get her to stay - they even offered to give her her wedding day off - but by then it was 2 late.

1/ An observation I will make (and by no means is this a generalization), some experts advising policy who pushed for removal of m*sks (and m*sk m*ndates) did so by publicly saying that it would enable compliance when we did need to use m*ndates.
