9. The NMH project is a test of the resolve of the State to guarantee that women will have access to modern reproductive healthcare, independent of religious ethos and private business interests. The State must not fail the women of Ireland again. @MichealMartinTD @LeoVaradkar

What frustrates me is that my daughter goes to a non denominational school, but they are still restricted in certain teachings as the land the school is on is owned by nuns.

Yet IVF, vasectomies and sterilisations were banned in St Vincent's at that time. So, what exactly could "in line with current policy" mean when the policy bans procedures which conflict with a Catholic ethos? 2/2 #MakeNMHOurs

These are not covered by the Drugs Payment Scheme or Medical Card. Only approx 1% pregnant women will have hyperemesis but they suffer hugely: physically, emotionally, financially. Tick off your 1st good deed of 2022 and speak up for women with HG. ❤ 2/2

Lots of tweets about the € of antigen tests. Not for us comment on that, but timely to highlight again that women with hyperemesis are spending an average €1.80 per tablet on the HSE's recommended 1st line treatment. Tablets usually taken x4 per day, often for months. 1/2

Thanks @APEC_UK! Lovely way to end the year and so delighted to see women’s health research and pre-eclampsia recognised in this way :)

2021 was our busiest year yet with the launch of #HG2costly. Thank you to everyone who spoke up for women with hyperemesis, covered our campaign, asked a PQ, shared our posts. Most of all, thank you to the many women who shared their stories of the astronomical cost of medicines.

“there is not a single hospital anywhere in the world built on land owned by a Catholic organisation, lay or religious, which permits procedures in reproductive healthcare forbidden by universal Catholic teaching." Dr Peter Boylan, Former Master of National Maternity Hospital

Excellent analysis. Ownership of the land is the key to independence of the new hospital.

The expert legal opinion shows that there is no obstacle to this government delivering a publicly owned National Maternity Hospital within a few short years - @drboylan #MakeNMHOurs

Now we know that there's nothing standing in the way of the state owning the new #NationalMaternityHospital - it's time to pile on the pressure to make it happen. Will you pledge your support for a publicly-owned & secular NMH? bit.ly/3nO5a4l @OurMatHosp #MakeNMHOurs

The project being wholly funded by the State makes it clear the State’s interest in ownership “substantially outweighs the interests of the Religious Sisters of Charity or St Vincent’s Hospital Group in retention of ownership”. #MakeNMHOurs #CPO4NMH irishexaminer.com/news/arid-…

The only acceptable way forward that guarantees women access to full reproductive public healthcare is that the state owns the land and buildings as well has majority control of the governance of the #nationalmaternityhospital @UpliftIRL irishexaminer.com/news/arid-…
