10 years is quite a lot. However, if he had been charged with possessing an unregistered destructive device in furtherance of a crime of violence, I think there is a 30-year minimum, so perhaps he was lucky. He will also serve his fed time concurrent with his state time.

Some people seem to be misinterpreting this tweet. The Senator seems to be arguing that sometimes it is good to reverse precedent, as Brown reversed Plessy. He doesn't appear to be arguing that Brown should be reversed.

The difference between studying historical right-wing extremism in the U.S. and studying present right-wing extremism in the U.S. (I do both) is that when you study *historical* extremism you can take comfort in the fact that their efforts largely came to naught.
