So sad. Her work will continue to transform so many of us as scholars, students, activists.
Linda Nash, Professor of History and a distinguished historian of US Environmental History, passed away on October 17, 2021 from lymphoma. Linda was a brilliant historian, an outstanding teacher, and a wonderful colleague. The History Department mourns her passing.

Two images from Bogazici University, Istanbul. Top-down appointed rector turns campus trees into surveillance infrastructures. The university students, faculty, and staff have long built the campus as a political ecological space of life.+

As political ecologists from Turkey, in our solidarity message with the ongoing Bogazici struggle, we asserted that the university autonomy and bottom-up decision making mechanisms are vital for building universities as social and ecological life spaces.

So much looking forward to reading this book! Side note: also looking forward to reading one day an ethnography about the translators whose volunteer labor is central to the making of a transnational food sovereignty movement.
Anxious and excited to have this out in the world! My book, Translating Food Sovereignty, will be out in early 2022!

Some of you may know @zeynoustun as an academic. Her son was just diagnosed with cancer, and doctors say one parent should be a full-time caregiver. Her non-permanent academic job had just ended. Here's the fundraiser to let the family focus on their son. gofundme.com/f/elliotts-canc…
