And there it is! "Understanding Rust futures by going way too deep", a breezy just-under-two-hours read. πŸ‘‰ fasterthanli.me/articles/und…

nushell has reached the point in its life where it's shedding upx, which indicates maturity 😊
This week in @nu_shell #119 - a busy week! We've added login flags to nushell, removed upx, better cleanup of external args, added nu sample scripts, did an *enormous* amount of work on engine-q, and fixed some issues in reedline. github.com/nushell/this_week…

If your CLI tool performs potentially destructive operations and you have a prompt to confirm them, make sure to add --yes/-y and --dry-run/-n options!

Whoa
Fave thing that happened this week: someone shared an image of a DNA sequence in the new Bond film, I found it matched DNA in the genome of a specific type of bee and posted a photo of the bee, and the photo was recognised by the person who collected that specific individual bee

this... this is shrooms, they're talking about shrooms. right?
Absolutely breathtaking, an $800, 333gb "audiophile SSD" audiophilestyle.com/forums/t… I think it's the external power jack (so that "all components will no longer be powered by the motherboard") that really gets me

Replying to @fasterthanlime
wasn't this also an issue for the integration of a rust backend in libcurl? Not sure if I'm remembering it correctly...

hilarious that @rustlang's fallible allocation RFC is nicknamed "alloc me maybe", proving once again that taking yourself seriously / being "professional" is absolutely not a prerequisite to build quality stuff rust-lang.github.io/rfcs/211…
