But those poor people emerging from the pedestrian zone(?). They were able to cross the road by going straight on, now they have to take such a long detour /s 🤡

That part of the crossing remained. It's obscured by the roof's edge in the photo, but it's still the same, pedestrian-wise.

Utrecht's transformation is truly outstanding. Look forward to a return visit. Such a beautiful city which is so easily missed travelling on the A2 or the A12.

Hi - are you able to explain what the plan for the cycle routes in the area is? The first image is from the 2015 Streets and Spaces Strategy for the area, with cycle lanes through the area, the second is from the site at the moment - no cycle lanes in sight.
