Ad creep has gone too far. Amazon, Instagram, and Google are choosing bigger profits over the needs of their customers. Wading through a page of nonsensical ads before arriving at organic results is a bad user experience. We deserve better bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

When you search for a popular videogame like "Call of Duty" on Amazon, the first thing that shows up on top is a Masters of the Universe Castle toy. Huh?! Actual relevant game is 6th image below

Column has struck a nerve. Inbox getting swamped with reader feedback. The incredible thing is everyone agrees. Never had that happen before. Not one person defends the tech giants

Let's Google. I count THIRTEEN ad links showing up first on the top and side panel before I must scroll down to the second page to see the first organic search result link. Not ideal! (Also, it gets my gender wrong 🤷‍♂️)

What a great tweet 🤣
Replying to @paulg
True to it’s subject, your inspirational quote has been fossilized and buried under layers of advertising sediment from the anthropocene era.

Search for specific mattress brand. 11 ads before organic link. Also, wonder how much money Google makes on companies spending for their own brand ad word as people just click on the first ad [too tedious to scroll down past many ads to get to the organic result]
