Zverev on the GOAT debate: "You cannot argue with the stats. Djokovic holds many records. You can't say Federer and Nadal are the greatest just because we were all cheering for them from the beginning." (Via Tennis Magazin)

He has been open about it since he defeated Novak at the Olympics.

He needed to beat the GOAT to be able to satisfy his ego and call someone a better player than himself lmao

It’s opinion, ok. I respect that, but i don’t care about it.

Truth has been spoken. Federer fans were quoting stats for YEARS about how he's the GOAT, now look at them. Suddenly it's about "elegance", "stylish", "nice guy", "most popular" etc and my personal favourite, "MY GOAT" 😆 🤣. I guess the facts don't align anymore, huh???

Taking emotion out of it, if you were to ask any tennis player... Pick one ATP player's bundle of records you want to break/surpass in your career...who would it be? ...Something tells me the answer would more often than not be - Novak Djokovic

It's weird. When Federer and Nadal were achieving many records, records per se were VERY IMPORTANT. And then, when Djoković overpassed them with records, some say "the stats are not important". It's a malicious way not to recognaze Djoković alone as the real GOAT.
