~Very cool~ to see @Mandiant writing about info ops in the context of offensive cyber ops. Kudos to @JohnHultquist and team for educating more people about these behaviors and activities.
I wrote a short blog, committing some of the lessons we've learned about the Russian cyber threat, and what we might expect, to writing. mandiant.com/resources/ukrai…

I’m quoted in @CBSNews today via @iaivanova about the IRS implementing 3rd party biometric data collection of American faces and voices to access their own tax data, including the child tax credit portal which provides the status of these payments. cbsnews.com/news/irs-id-me-t…
tl;dr IRS trying to fight fraud so they're forcing Americans who want to get tax data from the IRS online to submit biometric data in the form of a selfie (to a third-party company) to verify themselves. This is very, very bad, and every tech-aware American should fight it.

Woman claims she worked at Facebook for two years and that the app is surreptitiously turning on mobile mics to target users for ads: “listening for phrases and keywords” Here’s the TikTok video in question. Follow up below ⬇️
If folks are being asked about this recently it's probably partly because there's a tiktok that has been viewed ALMOST 20 MILLION TIMES in the last week from someone claiming to have worked at Facebook and saying that yes they are absolutely listening to you.

Between 2018-2020, revenues from fines+forfeitures soared more than 640% & now make up ~50% of the city’s total income. Many American towns operate this way. Police are a money-making endeavor; citizens pay for their own harassment by the justice system! al.com/news/2022/01/police-i…
