Russia is destroying the Ukrainian power grid, forcing doctors and nurses and all medical personnel to work without central electricity. Brave and competent people are being forced to perform surgeries by flashlight. 1/

It goes without saying that Russia's attempt to kill Ukrainian civilians by denying them energy during winter is one more example of genocide. The question is: what can we do? How can we help? 2/

.@LievSchreiber started his campaign on Thanksgiving.  I spent that day thinking about what we all owe to the Ukrainians, for the example they are setting of courage, the defense they are mounting of democracy, the principles they are reminding us are real. 5/

Makes my skin crawl that I sometimes share an elevator with @RussianEmbassyC careerists who shamefully cheer on their terrorist war criminal President.

Sounds like Belgrade in Novi Sad in 1999. I think you can guess who was doing the bombing of the civilian installations back then?

I guess you can remember who was doing genocide against the Albanian population of Kosovo, right?

My brother said that if Russia is willing to take twenty years to get Ukraine like the Taliban did, then it will eventually win. I feel a sinking in my chest when I think about what he said. What if he's right?

I think the difference is that the Taliban didn't have much to lose. Whereas Russia and Putin have quite a bit.
