A story that's not getting enough national attention: Here in the Myrtle Beach, S.C. area for the past 13 years, the FBI and local law enforcement officials left the impression that a white girl on vacation was abducted by a 16-year-old black dude who did evil things to her. 1/

Also somewhere in America, a state university system that's long provided upward economic mobility to thousands is under massive strain. But because no student there has made a minor complaint about the authenticity of the cafeteria's sushi, this goes unreported.

In today’s society, pro-choicers are the biggest advocates of affordable universal healthcare. They’ve often been opposed by those who claim to be pro-life. Seems that should matter in this analysis.
Replying to @lymanstoneky
Worth noting that early Christian societies also adopted a consistent pro life rhetoric in government! Christians founded the first hospitals: free medical care for the poor! Christian emperors massively expanded laws on public protection for the poor, expanded welfare, etc...

I say there’s a massive difference between abortion and infanticide and equating the two makes no sense.
One piece of politics that I think pro-lifers often get wrong is the idea that pro-choice views represent some kind of modern aberration. If you look through human history, acceptance of infanticide and abortion is the *norm*, not the exception. A horrible norm.

I understand what @AOC was saying and why she said it. And I’m cool with it.

One of the biggest problems we face in America today is that many smart business people will vote for one of these folks on this stage, all to save 5% in taxes.
These are the Republican candidates for Governor of Arizona. This may also be a strong sign of the end of the world.

Progressives always trip on evangelical talking points. The questions isn't "When is a pregnancy a person?" It's "When do pregnant people stop being people?" We don't force people to donate kidneys or give blood. No one else is forced to put life and health at risk for a person

Trump and his allies are trying to discredit Cassidy Hutchinson but Trump's own comments on January 6 seem to back up Hutchinson's testimony @jaketapper reports

Some new details on the Biden-McConnell deal: 1. Biden agreed to name Chad Meredith, an anti-abortion advocate, to a federal court in Kentucky in exchange for McConnell's promise that he would stop blocking Democrats' picks for U.S. Attorney in Kentucky. slate.com/news-and-politics/…

This is not how “lived experience” or “my truth” works. Media outlets have unique standards. Some say “Mr.” and “Mrs.” Others ok “Dr.” for a phd, others don’t. That’s all that’s happening here. Disagree with the standards. But this is not invalidating someone’s lived experience.
So much for "lived experience" and "my truth"

346 people died in two separate boeing 737 max crashes because boeing knowingly cheaped out on the plane's safety systems software to save money, so the planes could just out of nowhere start uncontrollably careening towards the ground. This was like 3 years ago
Replying to @sammyzorba @PaulBlu
Agencies administer the laws, not write them. Is the argument that companies would build planes that actively fall out of the sky without specific regulations in place? That seems not likely. Planes are expensive to make and operate.
