The supreme court has become more powerful and more divided. They struck down Federal laws two times in the first 70 years. They have struck down Federal laws 125 times since 1934. Thomas Jefferson did not want 9 unelected individuals to overturn what the people had voted for.
In 1987 Harry Frankfurt argued that it does not matter whether some people have less than others. What matters is that some people do not have enough. If everyone had enough, it would be of no moral consequence whether some had more than others.
Josh Hawley questions Judge Jackson about leniency for sexual predators. In 2018 a Deputy Sheriff charged with sexual assault against his partner. Mr Hawley the top AG at the time made the deputy resign and gave him probation.
