John Bercow schools Nigel Farage on the brexit disaster. "To date brexit has been a grotesque blunder... but Nigel wants to blame someone else... it's nonsense on stilts... just admit people are poorer & wages are down... "

Liz Truss & right-wing Tories want tax cuts for the rich. Tax justice isn't their game. Earned income is taxed at rates of 20%-45%; capital gains taxed at 10%-28% & recipients don't pay NIC. Equalizing the two raises £25bn a yr. They won't lobby for that. news.sky.com/story/low-tax-t…

The Tories have failed to publish the annual progress report they promised when they announced their big Levelling Up plan a year ago today. So we’ve done it for them…

The rollout of voter ID is an utter shambles. At the current rate it would take 8 years to issue documents to all who could need them, but we’ve only got 3 months. The Tory plan is unworkable, unnecessary and set to lock millions of people out of voting theguardian.com/politics/202…

The gov’s strategy on strikes makes no sense. The longer they go on, the more they feed into the sense that nothing works in Britain anymore - and that gets pinned on the people in charge. If Sunak simply expects the unions to fold, it’s just another sign he’s not up to the job.

As Dominator Raab fends off all the bullying claims … in the last 24 hours I have had messages from staff in two of the prisons for which he is responsible that searing criticisms made in previous reports have been met with zero response from him and zero action from govt 1/2

The Prime Minister needs to come clean about what he knew and when. He keeps refusing to say whether he knew of informal concerns regarding Dominic Raab’s conduct. Rishi Sunak can’t keep hiding behind the fact no formal complaints had been raised.

In any other employment context, if you faced 8 complaints involving dozens of staff over 4 years in 3 different parts of your organisation, any employer in the country would have an obligation to say ‘Should I suspend that person whilst I’m investigating?’ Why not Raab?
