Pelting stones, destroying public properties in the name of protest, shutting down businesses and violence-induced mob work must be considered an act of terrorism and should have a severe punishment. No matter who does it, There should be non-negotiable laws on it.

Politics and Power should be distant from this. Zero tolerance to Vandalism should be the motto, irrespective of who does it. However this is still a distant dream. This is a usual part of the toolkit of various political and religious factions looking out to consolidate power.
