The "tough on crime" politicians pushing Democrats toward electoral failure aren't even tough on crime, at least if one follows scientific evidence. Their policies lead to more crime, exactly because they don't address root causes. I wrote about this in my book, Usual Cruelty:

He was paralyzed during an exercise that "simulate[d] a mob," which could mean a "chaotic" protest event. He was beaten so badly he sustained liver injury, a punctured lung, head injury, and his spine was broken in 3 places. This is how they plan to treat civilians.

I can't stop thinking about the LAPD officer that was killed during training at the academy in May. Can't stop thinking about it because the violence that resulted in his paralysis below the neck and eventual death was intended for civilian targets but killed him accidentally.

I’m not exactly surprised, but I really am shocked at the Biden administration’s total abdication of leadership following the Roe reversal. Just a really appalling waste of moral authority, political capital, and voters’ faith.

Calling authoritarianism a “buzzword” is a deliberate attempt to obfuscate. Simple as that. We all know, very clearly, what authoritarianism is. The purpose of pretending there’s “vagueness” is to rob people of the language they use to describe their experiences and situations.
Authoritarian is a useless buzzword full freedom only comes with the abolition of the state which only happens with the liquidation bourgeoisie as a class, the destruction of imperialism, all private property being transferred to the public good which needs a state

A lot of people think a fight should be avoided unless you know it will be won. The right understands fighting is how you change what is possible.

basis what I've heard from this SCOTUS it doesnt actually matter if you have a law degree because a SCOTUS justice can make up any bizarre shit out their ass no matter how ludicrous it is and if they can get 4 others to nod along thats what happens

For all the white people screaming about putting abortion clinics on indigenous land, not only is that colonizer logic, but the Supreme Court is quickly undermining indigenous sovereignty.
The Supreme Court rules that states CAN prosecute crimes against Native American victims committed on Native American reservations if the defendant is non-Native. The decision limits the scope of the 2020 ruling in McGirt v. Oklahoma (which involved a Native American defendant).
