I was just walking down 125th Street in Harlem when a Black trans woman approached me. “Can you please say something about Dave Chappelle?” she asked me. “I walk down the street and people make fun of me. He needs to know his words hurt Black people like me,” she said.

Sometimes I truly doubt the validity of tweets like this. He isn't recognizable beyond Twitter & especially not as a black man on 125th street in Harlem, and no one there is walking up to random Black men saying these things. 😂 Just tweet your thoughts spare the fake scenarios.

Yes, you’re right. Because no one has ever seen me do anything in public beyond Twitter. Meanwhile, the Black trans woman who approached me is a real person with real feelings, but you can choose to believe she does not exist if it fits with your world view.

Stop it. Folks are not walking up to you asking you to do anything about Dave Chappelle. If you mad at Dave Chappelle just say that....

This! I enjoy his sentiment, but he is not famous enough for me to even try to believe this. If the setting has been a gay bar…maybe

If we’re not going to fight for EVERYONE in our community we are never going to get free. Sad that it seems like so many Black folks don’t get that.
