A 6th superseding indictment in the Oath Keepers case has just dropped into public view. It charges 16 people, including James Beeks, the Jesus Christ Superstar actor and Sovereign Citizen and has a total of 15 counts. Reading now.

Person One, aka Oath Keeper founder Stewart Rhodes, figures heavily, but continues to not be charged. The indictment says Rhodes named Person Ten and Person Nineteen to lead activities, but 19 "became sick shortly before January 6" and left 10 as "sole operations leader."

OOPS: the indictment charges 17 people, not 16. My mistake! All 17 are charged with conspiracy.

Don't immediately see too much new in there beyond adding Beeks to the alleged events of Jan. 6. I should note that the info on Person 19, on further review, was also in the prior indictment. Here's the full doc, LMK if you find anything of note! documentcloud.org/documents/…

The new Oath Keepers indictment is of 17 people, not 16 (as I hastily stated below). It does not, of course, include the handful of people who have already pleaded guilty in the case and are cooperating.

The "Free PACER" bill is scheduled for a vote tomorrow in @JudiciaryDems. Last year @uscourts made the wild claim that the bill would cost $2B and triple filing fees. Now they're saying it'd "abet criminality" by allowing anonymous access to legal documents.🤯 1/2

In a new filing, Thomas Caldwell of the Oath Keepers case admits he brought a rifle to the Comfort Inn in VA on Jan 6. But he says it was a .22 rifle, calling it "a beginner's gun" & "the least lethal firearm available on the market." Bobby Kennedy was killed with a .22 round

Caldwell also claims "no ammunition accompanied" the rifle and that it was an antique he brought as a "show and tell" item or "curio." Prosecutors allege it was part of a stockpile brought by Oath Keepers and associates to the DC area to prepare a Quick Reaction Force or QRF

Worth noting that this apparently came up in a "reverse proffer" with the DoJ, in which the govt shares evidence from its case in a bid to convince a defendant to make a plea deal. It seems the prosecution knew the caliber of the rifle, among other things. Mtg was Oct. 5

Given that nearly two months have elapsed since that reverse proffer and Caldwell is seeking to relax his conditions of release, it seems unlikely he agreed to make a deal (though who knows?)

The river of unorthodox filings in the Oath Keepers criminal case is something. After the court instructed counsel that a motion for the release of Kenneth Harrelson & Kelly Meggs should be "no more than 5 pages" the attys submitted a 45-page brief with 632 pages of exhibits.

The motion, which focused on Covid-19 vaccines, is pending. The DoJ's reply is notable for its terseness and the sense that the prosecutors are getting tired of dealing with these kinds of filings, which never seem to stop.
Oath Keepers Kenneth Harrelson & Kelly Meggs are seeking release from jail for them & 36 other J6 defendants "to ensure that any of the 3 currently available" COVID-19 vaccinations "will not be injected into Defendants without their informed & completely uninfluenced consent."

In its reply today, the DoJ says the motion should be rejected for failing to comply with the court's instructions to keep things short and not employ "bombastic arguments" or "fringe views about COVID-19." One wonders if the judge will at some point put a stop to all this.

apparently judges aren't so into this sovereign citizens deal
Replying to @kyledcheney
Pretty remarkable turn for James Beeks. DOJ was not preparing to seek his pretrial detention, but the actor's performance in front of Judge Howell may have convinced her to incarcerate him pending trial. politico.com/news/2021/11/23…
