Worked in collaboration with @googlearts @artwithMI to create the Hip Hop Poetry Bot.
We built an algorithm trained on a dataset of hip hop, rap & rnb lyrics, and experimented with using this to generate poetic responses to everyday questions.

The thing is AI generated art doesn't need to be perfect for it to be dangerous to artist's livelihoods. All they need it to do to lessen the value of art--of artists--and that's exactly what it's doing. That's what's profitable.

there really is no reason for people to take this tweet in bad faith. this app is jarring man.
I hate to see it, but I am glad that we are realising that we do not have any actual spaces in this country for Black people by Black people.
Everybody benefits from the things that we do but we never get to have them as a safe space or refuge at all.
This is intentional.

It's sad that many working artists see it this way, I wish AI art communities / organizations would do more to uplift / center / prioritizes uses of AI art that lead to 1) creating original work 2) grow the size of the art economy 3) celebrate and direct support to our elders
it's just funny that this, along with so many other recent "tech innovations" in arts (and a lot of other spaces!), is just tech guys inserting themselves as middlemen so that they can passively take a monetary cut from people trying to live as human beings

I think that ppl need to stop buying into things that sound too good to be true, bc they most likely are. I’ve had so many ppl think they can go work at these major companies bc they finished 1 certification, and when I break the news that that’s not enough, they ghost me😂
I hate how twitter pretends everyone can get a 6 fig job just by lying on their application or taking fake ass courses yall sell. Most people don't see 6 figures in their LIFE but somehow everyone on here has the answers.
