Firewalker-Fields argued that the jail had offered Sunday services, but not a Friday prayer service for Muslim inmates. He said he wanted to be transferred to the Virginia Department of Corrections, where inmate-led group prayer was allowed for Muslims middleeasteye.net/news/us-mu…

If you ever wondered why you should push your schools and offices for upgraded indoor air quality, it's cause safety shouldn't be just for the rich and powerful.

Much of our lives is driven by the avoidance of infectious disease. We build sewer systems to remove waste and we supply clean water. We keep food cold and cook meat so we don’t get food poisoning. We build toilets and kitchens. Providing clean, safe inside air is no different.

Before you mf even get started let me say this: the cops shouldn't be out here killing folks experiencing mental health crises or folks they believe have committed crimes

Another thing people seem to forget. Nobody says George Floyd had to be a good person, or that his life was perfect. You don't have to have a clean record to be owed justice. You don't have to be sober to be allowed your rights. Derek Chauvin murdered him. THAT'S the reality.

The law is not "fixed" or "neutral" and it's so embarrassing anyone keeps talking about it like it is. Who writes the laws? Why are the laws written? To what end?

Another “win” for @Santos4Congress and the @GOP What was once the party of #Lincoln has drifted so far from the values we should promote if it weren’t so tragic, would be laughingstock of governance. patch.com/new-york/oysterbay…

This is SUCH bs from @SouthwestAir. They defended it as "this is what happens when you work for an airline" but (a) these aren't employees, they're job applicants and (b) if they were employees, would they be told to pay for their own hotel rooms? If so, that's another problem.
Why would I wanna work for Southwest if this is a reflection of how they treat their employees? Did they explain to the applicants they could be bumped from the flight at any time? Why not comp them a hotel room?

This is the racism that Black folks face daily, and have been for far too long. Unlike the brotha doing his job in a @FedEx delivery truck, I have no patience for this shit. He’s better than me. *Douglasville, GA*.

The bans on sleeping in parks are all recent, the state has people thinking it's always been illegal to sleep outside. That is absurd, you are being played. It is outside. The sleep police are new, do not be fooled.

Honestly, it'll always be very strange to me how people who've literally been involved in electoral work for years still get all shocked and disappointed when politicians get into office and immediately turn on the constituents. Like, how many more times is enough for y'all? 🥴

This is a tell for how far back they want to roll back civil rights once they take care of the transes.
When you celebrate Martin Luther King Day, you are also honoring same-sex marriage, gender-neutral pronouns, and so-called “gender-affirming care” for young girls. This, too, is the legacy of the movement. —@VirgilWalkerOMA g3min.org/?p=84750&preview=t…
