Thank you to @MPSHillingdon for the invitation! Speeding and safety on our roads is an issue that comes up again and again so it’s great to see action is being taken to keep residents safe in Colham and Cowley 👍🏽
Yesterday officers from Hillingdon Safer Transport Team worked in conjunction with Hillingdon council to combat speeding vehicle’s on Cowley Road @ektagohil95

This is very true. You can't level up if people don't feel safe or skilled people don't want to move to a town with high crime levels. You can't give businesses confidence to invest if they expect to be burgled or defrauded. The challenge is what to do about it.
Boris Johnson told cabinet cutting crime was "integral to our economic mission." A gov source said they discussed how it "helps reduce insurance premiums" & would "stop people being poorer because they are robbed" & "having to buy new bikes & phones." bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-6…

I welcome the Commission’s report and its work to put the community at the heart of developing a fitting memorial to those who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower tragedy. I look forward to seeing more detail on their plans once further consultation has taken place.
Today we are launching our report outlining initial ideas for a community-led memorial honouring the 72 people who lost their lives in the #Grenfell Tower tragedy. The report is available to view on grenfelltowermemorial.co.uk/… Hard copies and translations will also be available.

This terrace in Islington has been allowed to add these mansards in recent decades. Surely there can be few less disturbing ways to bring about a one-third increase in the floorspace density of an inner urban area?

I actually can’t believe I’m reading this. Dear Ross: why would you think that the Eurovision - a paradigm of pointless frippery - presented an appropriate excuse to try and make a political point? And why make that point by decrying missiles that are keeping Ukrainians alive?
All it took for the UK to get 12 points was a few thousand anti-tank missiles #EUROVISION

Whenever I visit an English city I find myself bowled over by its character and charm. It's amazing how lovely Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle, Liverpool all are, and how each has its own sense of place. Must do Leeds/Bradford next. A wonderful country!

I think this whenever I travel in England. Trollope wondered 'whether many travellers, men who have pitched their tents perhaps under Mount Sinai, are not still ignorant that there are glories in Wiltshire, Dorsetshire, and Somersetshire. We beg that they will go and see.'

🎉THE CABINET HAS COME TO STOKE-ON-TRENT🎉 It was brilliant to have our government descend en masse on Stoke-on-Trent for the Regional Cabinet.

Spot on
This, by @daisychristo from @mrianleslie new Flashpoints, is key. I don’t understand why those who are calling for the abolition of exams, and who would no doubt describe themselves as progressive, can’t see this. Mandatory reading for the @TimesEducation Commission

Really good explanation of street votes by @boys_nicholas on @GBNews.
'Groups of residents in a street can put together a visual design code which shows how their street could be used a bit more intensively.' Director of @CreateStreets, Nicholas Boys Smith, discusses street votes as an alternative to traditional forms of planning permission.

The refreshing thing about the Government’s housing reforms - street votes, design codes, new infrastructure levy - is that they treat communities as shareholders in development, with a say over design and share of the gain, rather than passive recipients. buff.ly/3KXI0AJ
