Biden tells Dem govs he thinks people will be shocked when the first state tries to arrest a woman for crossing state lines to get an abortion. "I don't think people believe that's going to happen. But its going to happen," he said.

I don’t understand this, logistically speaking. We gonna do police checkpoints? Phone tracking? Some sort of registration? Crazy stuff.

Honest answer, I’m guessing some combination of the Texas abortion tiplines and state police. Edna (all apologies to non-theoretical Edna’s) thinks Suzanne is going to get an abortion? She calls the tipline, passes along info, state runs license plates and such to intercept…

A lot of you are thinking about this too literally. They'll arrest you at home on suspicion that the trip you took last week was a secret abortion run.

On what grounds tho? If I get an abortion out of the state, how could they arrest me? I didn’t “commit this crime” in that state, how could that state punish me? Genuine question, bc as far as I know if I murder someone in VA, MD isn’t gonna charge me.

I mean murder isn't a great example for these purposes but I do get what you're asking. The short answer is that multiple states are pursuing (or already have) laws that outlaw specifically travelling or helping someone travel outside the state for the purposes of an abortion.

They’ll probably try to track menstruation so they keep an eye on you potential pregnancy
I’ve seen ppl laugh at the idea of a “period police” but this has happened in other countries before. W/ Decree 770, Communist leader (oh the irony) Nicolae Ceauşescu banned abortions and contraceptives to women under 40 w/ less than 4 kids
