1/5 This is a model of my son’s class in Scotland today, Sept 13. We’ve had 9+ cases in 24hrs. All the cases are clustered in the back of the class. The windows were open. 🔴=positive (so far) 🟢=negative/untested ⚪️= empty seat. We’ve been told class transmission doesn’t happen

2/5 This classroom provides an extraordinary example of the spread happening faster in class than home. 2 of the 🔴 cases in the back cluster also have twin siblings in the same class who sat in the front and have tested 🟢neg. 9 cases! 1 in 7 kids are likely to dev #longcovid

3/5 This could’ve been prevented. We’ve known about the risks, we’ve known how to reduce them. Ventilation is not enough even now in mild weather w/ the windows open. We need a CO2 monitor and HEPA air purifier in every room. We need classmates to count as close contacts.

4/5 We only know about these cases because of parents sharing information. Things need to change. This is why we’ve started Clean Air For Class. Please sign & share our petition chng.it/mXc4sLHqNt. Follow us @CA4Class

Looks like class transmission would be the easiest explanation…. Unless they are all mates and went for fish and chips.

China revised the definition of "close contacts" for the Delta variant. E.g. all people in the same building who have been in direct or indirect contact with a positive Delta case within four days are all classified as close contacts.

I wish @scotgov would also revise their rules according to evidence of transmission
