Ok, ok, to my European friends, if you still think the changes on Twitter are survivable…no they are not. I have documented the reasons for this on Medium. This is like zero surprise. #nafo #ukrainians #EUcitizens head for the lifeboats. irishtimes.com/business/2022…

Ok, #NAFO #Fellas #RIPTwitter this is one last appeal. Make your way to the lifeboats. The #Twitter is going down. I am on Mastodon, and right now there is an uptick of traffic, cause #birdapp refugees washingtonpost.com/technolog…

Ok, after 48 hours of life guard duty….it’s now time to lurk. The way a certain tech bro is breaking down, very publicly and in real time…means paying attention to that part of the story. At least Howard Hughes did it in private, spectacular, but private.

This👇👇👀👀 Very good explanation.
Right. As a heavy tweeter/content creator who is now maintaining BOTH a Twitter and Mastodon presence, here is a short guide to what I have set up, how to do it and lessons I've learned, for others. TLDR: It's been WAY less hassle than I expected thanks to tips from followers /1

Well, after a day of explaining the lifeboat, time to go back to lurking. Another reason not to deactivate the account…bad actors pretending to be me with a blue check, for eight cool beans.

For the full crunchy details
As a former SRE, I'd just like to say: This site isn't going to burn down. That's way too calm and organized a death for a site this big which apparently just fired most of the on-call staff.

One last thing, now lurker status, cause twitter drama, and you can find me at CounterSocial and Medium. Before long others will get it, Musk, #Cosmist, #Longtermism plus a slew of legal issues. You literally are funding a Russian ally. As recently learned, #coreuser, rarely FB

This…for those who are telling me to stay. This is not the first time…old enough
Online social networks can unravel very quickly when policy changes cause core users to leave. That lowers the cost-benefit ratio for the remaining network members & can create a cascade where departing users prompt their friends to go, too. That is what happened to Friendster.

A decision about twitter will need to be made, soon. For the moment, I like CounterSocial. But this place feels off the rails already. Will not wait until moderation is off.
