Strange that the Sunday Times insisted on Mark Tighe working out his notice [and he's certainly filed some decent stories in the past six weeks] before he, apparently, joins the Sindo. Sunday Times loss is Sindo gain.
Is that the Sunday Times Mark Tighe off to work with the Sindo? And being replaced with a "general journalist" at the Sunday Times? He'll be missed, a cut above the "general" particularly with his contacts in, or in the orbit of, the FAI. Sad to see the Times declining.

You have some economies of scale in political parties and SF are finessing their joinedyuppness across the island of Ireland. FF and FG should have established themselves in N Ireland a decade ago, just gets harder for them with every passing year.

And bright as a button, Stephen Donnelly tells us working conditions for junior doctors are "not acceptable".

Working conditions for junior doctors have been an issue for a decade, at least. Waiting times have been an issue for a decade. It's like Stephen Donnelly hasn't been Minister for Health for two years, or in confidence and supply for four years before.

Stephen Donnelly's management consultant lingo - "not acceptable". As in, waiting times for elderly patients are not [even remotely] acceptable.

Trevor McCarten (41),Edward Jackson (55) & Francis Magee (64)refused bail & remanded in custody after cocaine seizure linked to East Belfast UVF Can't help thinking McCarten's solicitor telling the judge his client has "a clear criminal record" might've been damagingly ambiguous!

The hapless Brandon Lewis threatened MP with libel after concerns were raised about the shady Tory party treasurer. Turns out the treasurer was reported to NCA by suspicious bankers Shortly afterwards, the treasurer made his one & only personal political donation To Brandon Lewis!
There are growing security concerns about the Conservative Party taking £millions from donors with links to the Kremlin. Sheleg, 2019-21 Tory *Treasurer*, was reported to the National Crime Agency by Barclays Bank. In 2019 @BrandonLewis threatened me with lawfare for asking Qs:

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed there's no sponsor for the #todaycb radio show. It's been sponsorless for five months. RTE was seeking €350,000 for 2022, but even if they landed a sponsor today, it would be €200,000 pro-rata.
Whatever the truth about RTE's decision to cancel #cblive, doesn't it strike you as irregular that an announcement is made three days before the final prog after 7 years? And no replacement lined up. So they'll fill it with Mrs Browns Boys repeats. No mention of recent ratings?

#cblive cancelled last week's average adult audience was 140,000 It probably peaked at around 300,000 during the pandemic It's now in the same audience ballpark reached by the rival #tonightvmtv which is produced on a relative shoestring What now for CB? More dodgy nixers?

At this stage, govt is just taking the mickey with funding specific university teaching posts at its favorite universities for its favorite public servants. Indo reveals yet another pre-retirement taxpayer funded sinecure.
How widespread is the practice of the govt using taxpayers money to fund specific university teaching posts at its favorite universities for its favorite public servants? Turns out, Tony Holohan stroke wasn't unique.

Hmm, our very own Artie Fufkin tells us the reason Springsteen tickets cost an eye-watering €156 seated, is partly, public liability insurance. Costs €1,500 in premiums for a 40,000 Ed Sheeran concert in Belfast but €65,000 for a 35,000 concern in Cork. 40x ? #ripofIreland
