Over the last 5 years I've been writing a book, and the e-book version is out now! link.springer.com/book/10.10… Complete with code boxes, maths boxes, ninjas and the odd Australianism which I hope won't get lost in translation. Solutions and supporting code in ecostats package on CRAN

I'm in awe at the size of this lady. It's a Hornet Robberfly (Asilus crabroniformis). The larvae feed on maggots in dung and the adults feed on all sorts of insects such as beetles. Seen today at one of our @RestREco1 field sites in Wiltshire.

It's a shame this Tory leadership contest has to end so soon. Another couple of months and we would end up with zero taxes, gold-plated public services, totally free energy, and a real live Kraken guarding the Channel. What happened to "always underpromise and overdeliver"? ~AA

I'm planning to stuff The Lords with up to 50 cronies who only get a peerage on condition that they vote with the government on everything. Who needs democracy and independent thought when you can have bribery and corruption?

Did you know? The Conservative Party is also known as the “Tory” party or as “The Tories”. It originated in Ireland around 1678 from the Gaelic word tóraídhe or tóraí which was an insult directed at ‘English gentry’. The word means - a robber, plunderer, or thief.
